With the runaway success of the "Mill Valley" single with the Third Grade Class ~ on the Warner/Reprise label ~ Erik Jacobsen ("Spirit in the Sky," The Lovin' Spoonful, Chris Isaak) went on to produce this album with Rita and the kids, who were by then fourth graders. More recently, Varese Sarabande issued the album as a CD, including 2 songs not on the original recording ~ "Sad Night," and "America, Let's Get Started Again." When the "Mill Valley" song first hit, a Canadian DJ summed it up by saying, "Everyone has a Mill Valley in his heart."

1906: A Journey through the Mythical City

This sound track for the multi-media theatrical extravaganza by Gregangelo & Velocity Circus, produced by Gregangelo, Frank Martin, and Rita Abrams, includes 4 of her songs: "When You Come to San Francisco, You've Come Home," "The Golden Gate Bridge," "Bay Bridge RAPscallion," and "DELI-cate Topic." The show, with its cast of 18 international circus performers, premiered at San Francisco's Pier 39 in June, 2006, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake.

Songs with Dr. Elmo, CD & tracks

Rita's novelty song collaborator, Elmo Shropshire -- a.k.a DR. ELMO (a licensed veterinarian) -- is best-known for his recording of "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer," the Christmas classic which has sold more than 10 million copies since it was first broadcast by a San Francisco radio station in 1979. Consistently the most requested holiday song of the past two decades, "Grandma" has secured its place in American pop culture and made Dr. Elmo the King of Comedy Carols.

Six Pillars of Character

Livewire Media, an educational company, hired Rita to write 13 songs for POPCORN PARK, a series of 6 DVDs in both English and Spanish geared toward children grade K-5.

Written by David Elkind and Freddy Sweet, Ph.D., the DVDs entertain while helping teachers discuss core social values. They can also be used for discussion in English as a Second Language classes.

This fully illustrated book with 60-minute CD is designed to help kids ages 4-10 work and play together. Rita Abrams' 12 story-songs about important topics ~ like bullying, fighting, and ridiculing ~ complement storyteller Kendall Haven's riveting tales that entertain kids while helping them handle tough situations.
